Bernard LOCCA (Saint-Brieuc, 1926–1997) Waiting Before the Execution Watercolor signed in the upper left corner and dated 1949. Height: 47.5 cm. Width: 58 cm. As seen. (thumbtack holes) In 1979, Oscar Wilde’s *The Ballad of Reading Gaol* was published by Pierre de Tartas in a prestigious limited-edition print run, for which Bernard Locca created the illustrations. This subject is therefore quite pioneering and suggests that it was dear to him, or at least a source of inspiration. On the back: Bernard LOCCA (Saint-Brieuc, 1926–1997) Saint-Étienne Cathedral in Saint-Brieuc. Watercolor and oil pastel. Height: 47.5 cm. Width: 58 cm. Visible marks. (thumbtack holes)
