H_ 54.5 cm W_ 45 cm Restorations and Damage This portrait of a young woman belongs to the Orientalist movement that swept through Europe in the 19th century and was inspired in particular by the Greek War of Independence between 1821 and 1829. This movement was led by artists such as Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant, Léon Cogniet, Théodore Chassériau, and, above all, Jean-Léon Gérôme and Eugène Delacroix. The style and composition of this painting bring it close to the work of Jan Portielje. Appraiser: Cabinet Artéon Sold by designation. Appraiser: Quentin BONNEFOY - Cabinet ARTÉON
