IDMAN (Finland) Model 51164 Polished brass six-arm chandelier with stylized plant decoration. Central shaft extended by sinuous arms ending in circular bobèches, supporting pleated shades. Central element adorned with brass cut-out leaves. Manufacturer's stamp under the base. Circa 1955 H_66 cm D_57 cm Model referenced in Idman catalog n°138 (part 1, p. 22). Notes : This model is part of the Idman production of the mid-1950s, the period during which Paavo Tynell collaborated with the firm (from 1953). Both the numbering and the formal vocabulary - notably the organic treatment of brass - evoke his stylistic entourage. Other designers active at Idman during this period, such as Mauri Almari and Gunnel Nyman, could also be considered.
