PIERRE MAGNAN-BERNARD (1880–1950) Mediterranean Flower Garden by the Sea (ca. 1925) Oil on canvas Signed lower right Dimensions unframed: 38 × 61 cm; framed: 55.5 × 78.5 cm Painting executed on both sides. Additional photographs available upon request. ____________________________________________ Provenance: Artist’s studio Private collection Passed down through the family ____________________________________________ Yellow coronilles, pink climbing roses, and orange nasturtiums stand out against the bluish-green background of pine trees, offering a glimpse of the sea. In contrast to the Breton landscape painted on the reverse side in more subdued tones, this composition radiates a distinctly Mediterranean light. Pierre Magnan-Bernard showcases his full palette in these two works.
