SWEDEN, 19th century Biedermeier-style floor clock The frame is made of fir veneered with birch and ebonized wood. The trapezoidal upper section rests on a rectangular base that ends in ball-shaped feet. The dial is made of sheet metal with enameled Roman numerals on a white background; the movement plate is signed “Iacob Anders Pers son / Mora.” H: 213 - W: 64 - D: 30 cm Dents and missing pieces; movement needs to be checked. Swedish Biedermeier-style production was largely inspired by works from northern Germany, characterized by their austerity, geometric forms, and lack of decoration. It differs, however, in its use of birch veneer and the occasional incorporation of neoclassical elements, which are absent from Viennese and Berlin Biedermeier production.
