(paper) Mano Martínez’s photography explores the representation of the male body from a contemporary perspective, combining sensuality with scenes of apparent spontaneity. In this work, the fragmentary framing focuses attention on the torso of a young man leaning against a railing, with a cigarette between his fingers. The naturalness of the gesture and the absence of the face reinforce the intimate and anonymous nature of the composition. The image reflects the artist’s interest in reexamining the traditional codes of the male portrait, moving away from idealized representations to explore new forms of sensuality and identity. Trained in Artistic Photography at the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny Serra i Abella, Mano Martínez has built a career linked to fashion, advertising, and fine art photography, with publications in Vogue España, Neo2, and La Vanguardia. His personal body of work, centered on the male body and homoeroticism, has been featured in exhibitions such as *Yes It’s a Sin* (Barcelona, 2019) and *Imago Dei* (Barcelona, 2023), as well as in international group shows.
