After PABLO PICASSO (Málaga, 1881 – Mougins, France, 1973). “Bulls in Vallauris 1955.” “Picasso: Les Affiches Collection,” 2017. Color facsimile reproduction on paper, accompanied by a numbered sculptural relief. Published by C. M. Arte S. L. (cARTEm), Salamanca. Copy 0143/1881. Number engraved on the relief. Picasso’s signature reproduced in the composition. Accompanied by a notarized certificate of the edition, dated in Bilbao on May 17, 2017. In good condition. Measurements: 48 x 35 x 10 cm (case). This facsimile edition reproduces one of the bullfighting posters created by Pablo Picasso during his stay in Vallauris, a French town where he was intensely active as an artist beginning in the late 1940s. The original, created in 1955 using the linocut technique, stands out for its vividly colored composition, organized into two yellow and red fields containing the schematic figures of a bull and a bullfighter, surrounded by small, stylized faces. The work is part of the “Picasso: Les Affiches Collection” series, published by C. M. Arte in 2017, in a commercial print run of 1,881 numbered copies, plus 39 copies intended for legal deposit, collaborators, and the publisher. Each copy is identified by a number engraved on the sculptural element accompanying the reproduction. The edition is notarized and revives one of the most recognizable aspects of Picasso’s graphic work: his posters for bullfights and the ceramic exhibitions in Vallauris. Pablo Picasso was a pivotal figure in 20th-century art and one of the leading pioneers of Cubism. His tireless experimentation spanned painting, sculpture, ceramics, and printmaking—disciplines in which he profoundly renewed the artistic language. In 1939, the Museum of Modern Art in New York dedicated the historic retrospective *Picasso: Forty Years of His Art* to him, definitively cementing his international reputation. His work is represented in institutions such as MoMA in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid, the Musée Picasso in Paris, and the Picasso Museum in Barcelona.
