KASTRO (Madrid, 1973). “Donuk Kriatures 123,” 2025. Resin and acrylics on canvas. Certificate of authenticity issued by the artist is included. Signed in the lower right corner. Measurements: 100 x 100 cm; 103.5 x 102.5 cm (frame). “Kriatures and DONUKS 34” represents one of the most solid and evolved works within Kastro’s artistic universe, a piece in which the artist fuses two of his most recognizable visual languages: the Kriatures and the iconic DONUK. The result is a sculptural wall piece that transcends the boundaries between painting, relief, and contemporary sculpture, transforming the surface into a living, dynamic, and deeply narrative space. The composition revolves around the white volume of the DONUK, which serves as the work’s visual and symbolic axis. Its emphatic, silent, and geometric presence acts as a gravitational center around which a multitude of small Kriatures unfolds. These figures, repeated and scattered across the entire surface, generate a sense of collective movement, flow, and accumulation, evoking human dynamics linked to coexistence, shared identity, and contemporary social energy. Beyond its visual impact, *Kriatures and DONUKS 34* prompts a reflection on the relationship between the individual and the collective. Each Kriature functions as an autonomous presence, with its own identity, yet is simultaneously integrated into a common structure. This duality constitutes one of the central themes of Kastro’s work: the coexistence of multiple individual stories within a single visual narrative. The work also demonstrates a significant evolution in the artist’s language toward a more sculptural, object-based, and spatial dimension. Kastro does not simply depict a scene; he physically constructs it through volume, relief, accumulation, and visual path, inviting the viewer to experience the piece from different distances and perspectives. A certificate of authenticity issued by the artist is attached.
