MARTA SÁNCHEZ LUENGO (Madrid, 1972) “Labyrinth,” 2001. Bronze on copper sheet, iron, and wood. One-of-a-kind piece. Attached is a catalog from the Lazcano Gallery (Madrid) featuring a reproduction of the work. Measurements: 127 x 95 x 18 cm. Marta Sánchez Luengo’s work places the human being at the center of her creative universe, exploring their various realities and the complexity of the circumstances that shape their existence. In her sculptures, the human figure takes on full meaning in relation to the space it inhabits, through compositions that evoke symbolic and narrative scenes. In *Laberinto*, a small bronze figure faces a vertical iron structure, formed by elongated, sinuous lines that create a sort of labyrinthine path. The hallmarks of the figure’s apparent fragility and the structure’s magnitude accentuate the sense of search, transit, and difficulty, prompting reflection on the obstacles and uncertainties that accompany the individual. Sánchez Luengo earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1995, specializing in sculpture, and has exhibited her work in galleries, institutions, and contemporary art fairs both in Spain and abroad. Her work is part of various public and private collections, including LeasePlan Servicios, the ONCE Typhlological Museum, the Artistic Heritage of León Cathedral, and the Egyptian Embassy in Madrid. Among her accolades is first prize for the monumental sculpture project *Se hace camino al andar*. Attached is a catalog from the Lazcano Gallery (Madrid) featuring a reproduction of the artwork.
