Jean-Émile Laboureur (1877–1943) The Collector Alphonse Lotz-Brissonneau. 1913. Wood engraving. 214 x 245 [304 x 448 mm]. Laboureur 700. A fine print on ivory laid paper, bearing the stamp of A. Lotz-Brissonneau (Lugt 83) beneath the central subject. Slight oxidation, more pronounced on the reverse. Full margins. Edition of 65 prints. AABM stamp (Lugt 3075). "Alphonse Lotz-Brissonneau served as something of a patron to Laboureur. This industrialist from Nantes advised the young artist to go to Paris and introduced him to Auguste Lepère. It was also he who compiled the first catalog of the engraver’s works (up to 1909). A. Lotz-Brissonneau is depicted in his print room, which is adorned, notably, with *Suzanne au bain*.
