Pierre Bonnard (1867–1947) The Salon des Cent. Poster. 1896. Lithograph. [445 x 630]. Bouvet 39; Jocelyne Van Deputte, *Le Salon des Cent, affiches d'artistes*, Paris Musées, 1994, no. 31, reprinted on p. 53. Color print. Fine print on glossy vellum. A long, broken horizontal crease running across the upper part of the subject. Light foxing at the bottom of the subject, with more pronounced foxing at the very top edge. A few very short tears and minor handling creases along the edges. Heavy dust accumulation in the upper part of the sheet on the reverse. All margins intact. AABM stamp (Lugt 3075). The Salon des Cent was a French art exhibition conceived by Léon Deschamps and launched in Paris in February 1894 in the lobby of the magazine *La Plume*, of which it served as an artistic and literary extension. It continued until 1900 and was dedicated primarily to exhibiting and selling prints and drawings. Each exhibition was announced by a unique poster, which *La Plume* commissioned from the exhibiting artist or, in the case of group exhibitions, from one of its contributors; from the very beginning, these posters were collected by art enthusiasts, and some were even autographed by their creators.
