SPACAGNA (Jacques). The Hypergraphic Picassos. No place, 1971. — 40 x 60 mm: (24 ff.), illustrated cover. Loose-leaf. First edition, entirely etched, constituting the first volume of the collection “La Gravure hypergraphique.” This small collection is the work of painter and poet Jacques Spacagna (1936–1990), one of the leading figures of the Lettrist movement from 1959 to 1972. It consists of a fully illustrated cover (front and back), a title page, 20 engraved plates, and two colophons. It offers a unique transposition of Pablo Picasso’s work into the Lettrist language, translating the master’s motifs into micro-signs and hypergraphies characteristic of Spacagna’s style. Limited edition of 30 copies, numbered and signed by the author; this is one of the 25 printed on Arches paper (no. 16). Very well-preserved copy.
