[MAGAZINE]. Fragile. No place of publication [Orsay], 1959–1960. — 3 issues, including 2 in-4 and 1 in-8, stapled. Complete collection of this rare magazine founded in Orsay by Guy Bodson, Claude Citon, Gilbert Duvernois, and Alain Surmely—young Trotskyists and libertarians who were drawn to Surrealism through the guiding figure of Benjamin Péret, who died in 1959 and to whom the editorial in issue No. 1 is addressed. It includes Issue 0 from March 1959 and Issue 1 from November 15 of the same year, both in in-4 format and mimeographed, plus a 16-page booklet, printed on pink paper in in-8 format, constituting Issue No. 2, published in February 1960. Issue No. 1 is adorned with an original linocut on a double-page spread, illustrating an excerpt from *Les Chants de Maldoror*, and Issue No. 2 with a drawing by Guy Bodson, reproduced across a double-page spread. Copies are in very good condition. Included is a signed autograph letter from Paul Blumenthal, 1½ pages in-4 format, addressed to Arsène Bonafous-Murat, dated January 7, 1961: “I am writing to you on behalf of Fernando Blanco, with whom I am active in an ultra-leftist group. He lent me an issue of *Fragile*, which I found very interesting. Please send me your magazine; I will subscribe to it. If you write any other articles, you can also send them to me.” Envelope included.
