JAPAN - 20th century Painting on paper mounted as a scroll by Ōshima Shōkyū (1907–1996), depicting a dragon emerging from the clouds. Executed in the *sumi-e* (ink wash) style, the composition highlights the dragon’s expressive head as it descends through swirling mists. Signed and sealed in the lower right corner: “Shōkyū” . The work is accompanied by its original *tomobako* (wooden storage box), which bears a signature, a seal, and a date corresponding to the 51st year of the Shōwa era (1976). Created in ink on paper, the work is mounted as a hanging scroll, adorned with patterned silk brocade borders, and fitted with *jikusaki* (scroll ends) made of white bone.
