JAPAN - 19th century A portable shrine made of black-lacquered wood housing a triad of polychrome wooden deities standing on rocks. Finely carved and adorned with gilded details, the three Shinto deities stand on a rocky base resting on a lacquered pedestal (added later). The figures are clad in robes decorated with polychrome floral motifs and intertwined tendrils. Dimensions: Statues: height approx. 28 cm Zushi: height 61 cm, width 37.8 cm, depth 55 cm (Minor wear, lacquer loss, minor restorations, added pedestal...)
