LOUIS PION - Tourbillon - Skeleton - Limited to 50 pieces. Stainless steel wristwatch, round case, screw-down caseback. Crown on the gray dial featuring Roman numerals and hour markers. Skeleton movement with a "Chinese" tourbillon. Diameter: 40 mm Note: The watch was in working order at the time of appraisal; shows minor scratches from normal use. The Tourbillon: a beautiful horological complication—a mechanism devised by Breguet in 1801 to counteract a watch’s rate variations in different positions. It consists of a rotating cage that houses all the escapement components, with the balance wheel at its center. The escape wheel rotates around the stationary seconds wheel, thereby driving the cage to complete one full rotation in one minute.
