Ritual figure of the Tadep type, Mambila / Kaka (Mbem), Cameroon. Anthropomorphic male sculpture from the stylistic tradition shared by the Mambila and Kaka peoples of the Cameroonian highlands. The composition, with great sculptural power, combines a globular head with large oval eyes highlighted with light pigments, a toothed mouth, and horizontal shoulders. The strongly angular arms frame an enlarged navel, while the massive, tiered legs accentuate the monumental character of the piece. Wood with a deep brown-black patina, showing reddish-brown wear and a lateral desiccation fracture on the head. Height: 55 cm
