Two seated female Agni statuettes, Akan group, Ivory Coast. A beautiful set of two carved wooden female figures, seated on stools with reddish geometric decoration. The slender silhouettes, with long, ringed necks and serene faces, are distinguished by their respective hairstyles: one with a high, incised conical crest, the other with two imposing rounded buns. The contrast between the bodies with their glossy black patina and the earth-red stools accentuates the elegance of the silhouettes and the remarkable sculptural quality of this set. Height: 35 and 38 cm
