Kakudji Kusu ritual statuette, DR Congo. An anthropomorphic figure carved from wood, with a spherical head featuring large oval eyes, extended by a finely incised rectangular beard. The slender body features geometric arms detached from the torso and hands drawn back toward the abdomen. The lower portion retains a dark covering of composite materials, held in place by fiber ties, evoking its former ritual function. Beautiful, nuanced reddish-brown patina, showing signs of wear, cracks, and traces of age. Height: 29.5 cm
