"Bolo" anthropomorphic mask, Bobo ethnic group, Burkina Faso. Carved from dense wood, featuring an elongated face with prominent brow ridges, a long, straight nose, and a protruding mouth. Remarkable geometric decoration of alternating triangles on the cheeks, a finely striated forehead band, and a high crest at the top retaining traces of fibers. Very beautiful reddish-brown and black polychromy, combined with a nuanced patina and signs of wear. Small holes from wood-boring insects and signs of wear on the wood are present.
