Vuvi (Vouvi) Mask, Gabon. An elegant carved wooden mask featuring an elongated face with remarkably clean lines, characterized by high, arched eyebrows, eyes reduced to thin slits, a triangular nose, and a small mouth revealing finely carved teeth. The composition, marked by great sculptural simplicity, is enhanced by a beautiful antique white polychrome finish, retaining traces of red pigments, notably a vertical line beneath the mouth. The wood displays a particularly interesting patina of age, natural wear, and numerous chisel marks. First half of the 20th century. Includes base Height: 35 cm
