Important portrait mask with a tall headdress, Mblo tradition, Baoulé, Ivory Coast. An elegant carved wooden mask featuring an oval face with a reddish-brown patina, half-closed eyes highlighted in white, arched eyebrows, and raised scarification marks. The composition is dominated by a spectacular trilobed headdress, finely striated, topped by a small knob. The contrast between the delicacy of the features, the antique polychromy, and the monumental scale of the headdress lends the piece a remarkable sculptural presence. The interior is deeply hollowed out, showing signs of use and age. First half to mid-20th century Height: 46 cm
