Ogbodo Enyi Mask, Igbo Izzi, Nigeria. A remarkable zoomorphic headdress mask carved from wood, featuring a powerfully geometric design that combines large circular eyes, a wide-open mouth, and protrusions reminiscent of an elephant’s tusks and trunk. The sculpture retains its original white and reddish-brown polychrome paint, with concentric patterns carved on the sides as well as a delicate anthropomorphic face on the reverse. Beautiful patina from use and signs of age. First half of the 20th century Height: 28 cm
