Topoke Shield, DR Congo. Braided plant fibers, wood, and pigments. An antique combat shield with a slightly curved rectangular shape, crafted using a dense weaving technique and featuring its original handle on the reverse side. The front features a striking geometric composition of horizontal bands alternating between shades of brown-black, ochre, and white, giving the piece a strong graphic presence. Beautiful patina from use and signs of age. Height: 99 cm
