INFANTRY TRUMPET, Third Republic Made of brass, signed on the bell: “Kandowsky 74 rue de Clichy Paris.” Tricolor wool cord. Length 49 cm, bell diameter 12 cm. Third Republic B.E. (dents and oxidation). Professional music directories from the 1910s and 1920s (notably the 1913 edition) mention the firm “H. Kandowski, 74 rue de Clichy, 9th arrondissement – Music and Instruments,” noting that the firm was founded in 1878. The firm remained in business until 1930. Provenance: Jean-Denis Serena Collection
