Historic Oriental silver dagger, magnificently decorated scabbard with floral engravings and a bird motif, 103 g Exceptional, traditionally crafted ornamental dagger with an artfully decorated silver scabbard, presumably from the Indian or Oriental cultural sphere. Stylistically, it may date from the 19th to the early 20th century. This decorative piece features a straight, tapered metal blade housed in an elongated, elaborately designed sheath. The front of the silver sheath features a particularly detailed engraved depiction of a bird with long, spread-out tail feathers, surrounded by floral tendrils, blossoms, and finely crafted leaf motifs. The relief-like engravings are accentuated by hatched background sections and a decorative border running around the entire sheath. The widened, curved end of the sheath is additionally adorned with small spherical silver appliqués. The reverse side is more simply designed and features a few incised marks.
