14066 - Ivo Soldini (b. 1951), Massive abstract bronze sculpture, signed and numbered 1/3

Ivo Soldini (b. 1951), Massive abstract bronze sculpture, signed and numbered 1/3 An impressive, solidly crafted bronze sculpture by Swiss sculptor Ivo Soldini (b. 1951). The expressive composition features several soaring, highly abstracted figures and forms—some of which appear human—that come together to form a dynamic, sculptural unity. Characteristic of the work is its powerful, expressive formal language, featuring roughly modeled, angular, and rugged surfaces. The deliberately irregular structure, with clearly visible traces of the sculptor’s hand, lends the sculpture an archaic, almost monumental effect. The vertically oriented elements, which vary in height, create a compelling interplay of physicality, movement, and negative space. The dark-patinated bronze emphasizes the sculptural depth and lively character of the composition. The sculpture rests on a flat bronze plinth that is also irregularly shaped. A particularly imposing, heavy piece weighing 20.5 kg. The work is signed by the artist and numbered 1/3. It is thus the first of a total of three numbered copies in the edition. An expressive work of contemporary Swiss sculpture, limited to just three copies, featuring a striking formal language and an impressive spatial presence.
