Château Mouton Rothschild, 3 Original Wine Labels, Artist Editions by Hans Hartung, Hans Erni, and Per Kirkeby A collection of three original artist-designed labels from the world-famous French winery Château Mouton Rothschild in Pauillac, Bordeaux. This historic winery is particularly known for its wine labels, which have been designed annually since 1945 by internationally renowned artists. These extraordinary labels combine the history of great Bordeaux wines with significant 20th-century art and are popular collector’s items. The collection includes the following vintages: 1980 - Hans Hartung (1904–1989) An abstract composition by the German-French painter and leading figure of Informel art. The design features dynamic black lines against a light blue background and reflects Hartung’s characteristic expressive visual language. Mounted behind glass in a black wooden frame. 1987 - Hans Erni (1909–2015) Portrait of Baron Philippe de Rothschild, surrounded by stylized grapes and vine leaves. The Swiss artist created this special design as a tribute to the founder of the famous series of artist-designed wine labels. The label commemorates his 65th and final vintage. Framed behind glass in an eye-catching red wooden frame with a gold-colored inner molding. 1992 - Per Kirkeby (1938–2018) An abstract, vibrantly colored composition by the Danish painter and sculptor. The image depicts a stylized wine glass filled with red wine set against an expressive landscape of dark red, brown, and violet tones. Framed behind glass with a dark mat in a gold-colored wooden frame. All three original labels are presented individually behind glass in different decorative wooden frames. An attractive collector’s set featuring works based on designs by three internationally renowned artists, linking the rich wine tradition of Château Mouton Rothschild with European art history. Contents: 3 framed original wine labels from the 1980, 1987, and 1992 vintages.
