Jan Baptist Weenix ? / Circumference Weenix Amsterdam 1621, "Hunting Still Life with Shot Feathered Game" Oil on canvas, relined. Inscribed "J. B. Weenix, Amsterdam" on a brass plaque attached to the frame. Dark-toned hunting still life with several shot birds, including large-format feathered game, on a stone or table top against a scenic background. At the top right, the view opens up into a cloudy landscape; in the background on the left are sections of trees and foliage. The composition is painted in warm shades of brown, ochre and red and shows a combination of still life and landscape that is characteristic of Dutch hunting still life painting. Framed in a richly ornamented, gilded magnificent frame with floral corner and central ornaments. Brass plaque with artist's name and small inventory/lot number "490" below the painting.
