Schumann Arzberg Porcelain Lidded Vase with Cobalt-Blue Background and Magnificent Gold Decoration Decorative lidded vase made of fine porcelain from the Schumann Arzberg Porcelain Factory, Germany. A bulbous baluster shape with a short neck and a domed lid, crowned by a gilded, tapered knob. An intense cobalt-blue background featuring elaborate gold-colored ornaments, floral decorative elements, and decorative borders running all the way around. On the front, a large, white-outlined medallion featuring a polychrome bouquet of roses, tulips, and other flowers in shades of pink, violet, yellow, orange, and blue. The floral motif is framed by a richly decorated, curved gold cartouche. The lid is also glazed cobalt blue and decorated with delicate gold-colored ornamental borders and floral motifs. The neck and base ring are adorned with wide gold bands. Marked on the underside with the manufacturer’s mark “Schumann Arzberg Germany” and a crowned coat of arms.
