Meissen, magnificent large porcelain amphora vase with serpent handles, floral painting, and gold accents, height 67.5 cm A magnificent, large-scale porcelain amphora vase from Meissen, featuring a Neoclassical design with elaborate relief decoration and polychrome floral painting. The elegant, baluster-shaped body of the vase rests on a tall, fluted round foot with a broad base. The front sides feature magnificent, colorful floral bouquets with large pink roses, flower buds, small scattered flowers, and finely graded green leaves. Particularly impressive are the two elaborately modeled serpent handles on the sides. The sculpturally rendered serpents wind in multiple loops, their heads reaching all the way to the upper opening of the vase. The finely textured scales are accentuated by subtle gold highlights. The upper rim of the vase, the surrounding ornamental friezes, the lower body, and the profiled base are adorned with relief decorative elements and rich gold accents. The harmonious combination of white porcelain, sculptural snake motifs, colorful floral painting, and delicate gold embellishments lends the vase a particularly prestigious character. Marked with the manufacturer’s mark on the underside. Due to the delicate serpent handles and its size, this porcelain object is particularly sensitive to damage during transport. We recommend picking it up in person or hiring a suitable art shipping company. The buyer is responsible for arranging and covering the costs of transport. Dimensions: Height approx. 67.5 cm.
