Magnificent Oriental ethnic necklace, solid amulet pendant with red gemstones and an elaborate cluster of bells, silver-plated An exceptionally decorative, traditional necklace with a large, rectangular amulet pendant made of silver-plated metal, presumably from the Afghan or Central Asian cultural region. Stylistically, it likely dates from the first half to the middle of the 20th century. The imposing, rectangular pendant is adorned on the front with elaborate geometric relief ornamentation, numerous small spherical appliqués, and three-dimensional diamond shapes and decorative borders. In the center are two large, oval-set red gemstones, between which two smaller, round red decorative elements are arranged. The exact composition of the gemstones cannot be determined with certainty. Particularly impressive is the rich, movable fringe consisting of numerous spherical bells attached to several chain strands along the lower edge and on the sides. The fringe is complemented by small, stylized metal pendants. The elaborately designed front and the numerous movable decorative elements give the necklace a particularly magnificent, traditional character.
