Wide Navajo bangle made of 925 silver with large turquoise inlays, signed “S S,” USA, 20th century. A very wide and substantial-looking Native American bangle in the Navajo/Southwestern style, crafted from 925 silver; the entire front surface is densely set with numerous large, irregularly cut turquoise cabochons. The stones display a variety of rich blue to blue-green hues as well as distinct natural brown and dark matrix patterns. Each turquoise stone is individually set in a serrated silver bezel; the spaces between them are filled with numerous applied silver beads. A bold, slightly tapered open cuff shape with smooth edge profiles. Stamped on the inside with “925” and a two-letter manufacturer’s mark “S S.” In good worn condition with a rich, natural patina and signs of oxidation on the silver, as well as the usual scratches and scuffs. The turquoises exhibit natural variations in color and matrix, as well as isolated superficial irregularities; the setting appears complete overall. Width 6.5 cm, weight 118.4 grams
