405 - Gold ring with an antique scarab. Antique scarab, modern gold setting. Ring size 19-60/19.5-61. Antique scarab made of glazed steatite with remnants of turquoise-green glaze and an engraved design on the back. Mounted in a modern, bowl-shaped gold setting so that it can rotate. The smooth gold band features multiple coiled gold wire spirals on the sides, inspired by ancient scarab signet rings. The scarab shows age-related wear and partial loss of glaze. The gold setting shows slight signs of wear. Provenance: Formerly from the G.L. Collection, Baden-Baden, 1990s.
