Large "Reina." Jama Coaque, ca. 500 BCE – 500 CE. H 49.5 cm. Gray clay with a beige glaze, painted in black, turquoise, and ochre yellow. A standing woman wearing a magnificent headdress, earrings, and bracelets, as well as a form-fitting skirt that leaves her chest exposed. Her headdress is divided by three diagonal lines; her eyes are almond-shaped, and her mouth is slightly open. Her arms are adorned with incised geometric tattoos, and her palms face the viewer.
