308 - Stone pillar. Bactria, Margiana, 3rd–2nd millennium BCE. Height 31 cm, top diameter 12.5 cm. Made of black-and-white veined stone. Flat base, slightly biconical body, circumferential groove, and flat top. Probably an idol. Surface chipped and slightly sintered; a fragment is missing at the top. Provenance: formerly from a private collection in Berlin, acquired at Gorny & Mosch Auction 292, 2022, Lot 350; formerly from Gorny & Mosch 287, Munich 2022, Lot 361; formerly from a private collection in Belgium, prior to 2002.
