253 - Nefertem. Late Period, 7th–4th centuries B.C. Height 15.6 cm; 20.3 cm with base. Solid bronze casting with cold-worked details. It wears a crown consisting of a lotus flower, a pair of feathers, and menites hanging down at the sides, with an uraeus snake on the forehead. Includes a copy of the certificate from the Günter Puhze Gallery, Freiburg im Breisgau, dated 2004! Dark patina; broken at the thigh; surface slightly weathered in places; with wooden base. Provenance: Formerly in the collection of W.M., Bavaria. Formerly in Gorny & Mosch Auction 296, 2023, 197; in Germany since 2004; previously in the Swiss private collection of R. L. (1934–2010), since the 1950s and assigned collection number E 357.
