104 - Large Etruscan votive bust of a girl. 3rd century B.C. H 51.4 cm, W 42.2 cm. Reddish-brown terracotta. Head of a girl with medium-length hair (capite velato) and a bust clad in a chiton and cloak, with her left hand extended forward; the separately crafted hand is missing. The head and bust are joined below the neck and do not necessarily belong together. The front surfaces of the head and bust are mold-formed, while the back surfaces are freely sculpted. Chips on the lower edge of the bust. Provenance: Formerly in the collection of A. M., Ascona / Amsterdam, acquired in 1985.
