65 - Etruscan olla with lid. Second half of the 7th century B.C. Height without lid: 38.1 cm; with lid: 45.8 cm; diameter: 37.4 cm; width including handles: 45.5 cm. Ochre-colored impasto with a rich reddish-brown glaze. Spherical vessel with matching lid, decorated with raised ribs. Includes a copy of the invoice! Fragments of the rim have been broken off and reattached; minor color retouching; the olla has a small crack in the body; superficial chipping on the underside of the lid. Provenance: Formerly in the collection of A. M., Ascona / Amsterdam, acquired in 1980 from Nina Borowski, Paris.
