53 - Campanian red-figure fish plate. 350–325 B.C. H 4.3 cm, ø 18.3 cm. On the upper side, three sea bream depicted in a counterclockwise direction. Generous use of white for the details. On the rim, groups of lines alternate with large black dots. Includes a beautiful informational leaflet from the previous owner! Assembled from two pieces. Provenance: Formerly in the collection of G. B., Switzerland; acquired on October 3, 1983, from Ariadne Galleries, New York. From the same workshop as the plate in Chur, Museum K 55 (Beazley Archive Pottery Database 1009037).
