[AUGEREAU] With a printed letterhead (engraved vignette) reading “Army of Batavia / General-in-Chief Augereau.” Handwritten letter signed “Augereau” [Pierre Augereau, General, later Marshal of the Empire and Duke of Castiglione], dated 12 Germinal, Year 9 [April 2, 1801], from Paris, addressed to the Minister of War [Alexandre Berthier]. 1 page, folio size; fine condition. Requests that Citizen Miuvielle accompany [Augereau] to the army in Batavia. Affirmative reply in Berthier’s own hand, initialed in the margin.
