[Manuscript] Jacques-Anne-Joseph Le PRESTRE, Count of VAUBAN (1754–1816) Memoirs on the War in the Vendée by Count de Vauban. Handwritten copy of the book (anonymous author*) published in 1806 under the same title, written during the same period. The handwriting is easy to read. A note at the bottom of the title page states: “The entire print run, with the exception of a very small number of copies, was seized by Bonaparte’s police and was never published.” Period pink cardboard binding, plain, unmarked spine. Spine damaged; otherwise in excellent condition. *A handwritten note in pencil on the title page reads: “copied by [a] member of the Constituent Assembly of the Convention, etc…”
