Herez Persia, 20th century. Wool on wool, plant dyes, approx. 196 cm x 138 cm. The brick-red central field is dominated by a large, geometrically structured central medallion in dark blue, sky blue, ochre, and ivory. The characteristic, angular design language featuring stylized flowers, rosettes, and hook motifs is typical of the ornamentation found in Herez carpets. The ivory-colored corner zones provide a striking contrast to the red background. The wide, dark blue main border is decorated with regularly arranged multicolored floral rosettes and stylized leaf tendrils. Signs of age and wear; pile worn in places. Decorative collector’s item.
