Keshan, tapestry Persia, ca. 1900. Wool on wool, vegetable dyes, approx. 137 cm x 200 cm. The dark blue central field features a richly detailed floral ornamentation of curving tendrils, blossoms, and palmettes, with a small landscape scene—featuring a bridge, water, and architecture—embedded at its center. The wide, red-ground main border is decorated with figurative and architectural motifs as well as floral ornaments. The border panels feature stylized buildings, towers, and landscape elements that give the carpet its distinctive pictorial character. Signs of age and wear.
