Sarough, Mina-Khani pattern Persia, ca. 1920. Wool on wool, signed, plant-based dyes, approx. 337 cm x 243 cm. The ivory-colored central field features a dense, regularly arranged pattern of stylized flowers, floral rosettes, and curving tendrils/fish, in keeping with the traditional Mina-Khani design. The floral motifs in red, pink, dark blue, turquoise, and ochre are symmetrically distributed across the field, giving the rug a lively, balanced appearance. Narrow side borders with a detailed floral design frame the central field. Signs of age and wear.
