In 1955, Daen accepted an invitation from the government of Puerto Rico to exhibit his sculptures on the island. Over the next four decades, he lived in San Juan’s Old City and had his bronze sculptures cast primarily in Madrid. Among his best-known works are “La Rogativa” in San Juan, “The Journeyer” in Philadelphia, and “Queen Adelaide” in Adelaide. His later sculptures can also be seen in public spaces throughout Puerto Rico. In the final years of his life, Daen collaborated with his third wife, Laura Ross Daen.
