Designer Jewelry: Silver Necklace Design: Wilhelm Buchert (1939 Zwickau – 2023 Kiel). One-of-a-kind piece. 925/- silver, hallmarked. Total weight: 73 g. Hallmark: WB (Wilhelm Buchert). Chain length: 82 cm. Width: 2.4–7 mm. Very good condition. An exceptional, long artist’s necklace featuring a filigree, organic-sculptural design. The necklace consists of slender, rod-shaped silver links connected by irregularly shaped, three-dimensionally modeled connecting elements. The knot-like intertwined silver sections create rhythmic accents and give the necklace a lively, almost sketch-like line work. The interplay of linear and fluid forms, as well as smooth and textured surfaces, underscores the design’s unique character. A distinctive piece of jewelry from Wilhelm Buchert’s body of work that explores the boundaries between wearable jewelry and sculptural design.
