Total weight: 45.1 g. Engraved signature and date: BUCHERT '89, 900 + Pt., and WB. 2 cabochon-cut opals (2.5 x 0.8 cm and 0.7 x 0.9 cm). 3 brilliant-cut diamonds, approx. 0.28 ct (tw-w/vsi). Inner dimensions: 5 x 5.5 cm. Hook clasp. Very good condition. Exceptional artist’s bangle with a sculptural design. The wide, matte-finished gold cuff is interwoven with a dark, mesh-like band. Two asymmetrically arranged opals with a vibrant play of color create a striking contrast to the warm gold surface. Delicate, curved platinum elements and small brilliant-cut diamonds lend the composition a sense of lightness. The interplay of solid and transparent forms, varying surface textures, and organic lines illustrates the experimental character of designer jewelry from the late 1980s.
