Finnish design brooch with spectrolite Design: Elis Kauppi, (1921 - 2004) Execution: Kupittaan Kulta Oy, Turku. 1960s/70s. 585/- rose gold, stamped, weight: 5.9 g. Hallmark: anvil, crown, 585. 1 cabochon-cut spectrolite (d. 14 mm). Dimensions approx. 70 x 20 mm. Pin with safety slide. In very good condition. Rare Finnish design brooch by Uno Elis Kauppi (1921-2004), made by Kupittaan Kulta Oy in Turku. The elongated, curved design is effectively accentuated by the shimmering spectrolite. Kauppi is one of the most important Finnish jewelry designers of the 20th century and was co-founder and artistic director of Kupittaan Kulta Oy for many years. The brooch is a characteristic example of Scandinavian jewelry design from the 1960s/70s.
