Art Deco Diamond Brooch Circa 1930. Presumably platinum, hallmarked, illegible. Total weight: 4.4 g. Rectangular, openwork brooch with a strictly geometric Art Deco design. Set in the center and on the sides with 3 old-cut diamonds totaling approx. 1 ct, surrounded by 8 small old-cut diamonds. Surface finely engraved and partially decorated with a beaded border. W. 4.1 cm, H. 1.1 cm. Pin with an indistinct hallmark. Brooch clasp incomplete on the back; pin present. Signs of age and wear. Characteristic Art Deco piece with a strictly symmetrical, geometric design. The larger central diamond is accented by two old-cut diamonds on either side as well as smaller diamonds. The finely textured surfaces and geometric openwork reinforce the clear, architectural effect typical of the period.
